Product Description

Frankincense essential oil, steam distilled from the resin of the Boswellia tree, has been treasured for centuries for its warm, resinous aroma and grounding presence. Use it to support tired muscles and nourish the look of skin.

Once valued like gold, frankincense is the aromatic resin collected from Boswellia trees that grow in dry, sunlit landscapes across Somalia, Oman, and India. When the bark is gently scored, the tree releases milky “tears” that harden in the air. Steam distillation of that resin produces a thin, pale oil with a balsamic, woody, slightly citrus aroma that feels both sacred and everyday. Frankincense is often called the “king of oils” because it does so many things well.

  • Diffused: it steadies the room and helps the mind settle—ideal for meditation, prayer, yoga, or the last hour before sleep.
  • Diluted: diluted on the skin, it is a classic comfort oil for tight muscles and joints. In skincare, it is prized as a gentle astringent that can help skin look smoother, firmer, and more even over time.

The scent is resinous and earthy, with a soft sweetness and a quiet pine-citrus lift. It is a true base note: it lasts, it anchors brighter oils, and it makes a blend feel complete. Frankincense is not flashy. It is the oil people keep reaching for.

  • Add a few drops to a diffuser when you want stillness.
  • Blend it into a carrier oil for massage.
  • Stir a drop or two into unscented lotion for a simple face-and-body ritual.

Place 1 drop on a tissue or in a personal inhaler and breathe slowly.

Topical / massage
Dilute to about 1–3%:

  • Everyday body use: 6–12 drops per 1 oz (30 ml) carrier oil

Massage into shoulders, lower back, knees, or temples (avoid the eyes).

Good carriers: jojoba, fractionated coconut, sweet almond, or unscented body oil.

Skin care
Add 2–4 drops to 1 oz unscented face cream, serum, or facial oil. Apply at night after cleansing. Start low if your skin is sensitive.
