Product Description

True lavender essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops of Lavandula angustifolia. It is the classic oil for calm, comfort, and skin care. Its soft floral-herb aroma helps quiet the mind, ease the feel of tense muscles, and soothe the look of stressed skin.

Lavandula angustifolia is true lavender—the variety prized in aromatherapy and fine skin care. The pale purple blossoms are harvested at peak bloom and steam distilled, yielding a clear to pale oil with a clean, sweet, floral scent and a gentle herbal freshness. It is not sharp or camphor-heavy. It is the lavender people recognize as restful.

For centuries, lavender has been kept close to the linen chest, the bedside, and the first-aid shelf.

  • Diffused, it softens a room and helps the nervous system downshift.
  • Diluted on the skin, it is one of the most versatile comfort oils: useful after a long day, after time in the sun, or whenever skin looks flushed or dry.
  • A drop on a tissue, a few drops in a diffuser, or a light dilution in jojoba is often all that is needed.

Lavender is a middle note with lift. It reads floral first, then green and slightly sweet as it settles. It belongs in evening routines, bath rituals, and simple face-and-body oils. If you keep only a handful of bottles, this is usually one of them.

How to Use

Always dilute before applying to skin. Patch-test a new bottle.

Diffuse
Add 4–8 drops to your diffuser. Run 15–30 minutes in a well-ventilated room. Especially useful in the evening or during quiet work.

Inhale
Place 1 drop on a tissue or cotton pad and breathe slowly. Or add several drops to a personal inhaler and use as needed.

Topical / massage
Dilute to about 1–3%:

  • Everyday body use: 6–12 drops per 1 oz (30 ml) carrier oil
  • Targeted comfort: up to 18 drops per 1 oz carrier oil (about 3%)

Massage into neck, shoulders, temples (avoid the eyes), or tired feet. Good carriers: jojoba, fractionated coconut, sweet almond, or unscented body oil. Skin care
Add 2–4 drops to 1 oz unscented cream, lotion, or facial oil. Apply to clean skin. Start with the lower amount if your skin is sensitive.

Bath
Do not add neat oil to water. Mix 4–6 drops of lavender oil with 1 tablespoon carrier oil or unscented bath oil, then stir into a full tub. Optional: blend the mixture with ½ cup Epsom salt first.

Compress
Add 3–5 drops to a bowl of warm or cool water. Soak a cloth, wring out, and apply where you want comfort.

Linen & pillow
Add 1–2 drops to a tissue and tuck it near (not soaking) the pillowcase, or mist a cloth first so the oil is not applied undiluted to fabric in a concentrated spot.
