Product Description

Sweet almond oil, cold pressed from the kernels of Prunus amygdalus dulcis, is a silky, nourishing carrier with a soft glide and a faint nutty warmth. Use it alone to comfort dry skin, or as a classic base that helps essential oils spread evenly during massage and daily body care.

Sweet almond is the carrier most people already know by feel, even if they have never read the Latin name. Cold pressed from the kernels of Prunus amygdalus dulcis, it is a true fatty oil—smooth, medium-weight, and quietly rich. It moves over the skin with a gentle slip that makes it a favorite for massage, after-bath care, and any ritual that should feel comforting rather than clinical. The oil is naturally high in oleic and linoleic fatty acids, with a helpful amount of vitamin E. That composition is why dry arms, legs, and hands often look and feel softer after a few days of use. It does not vanish as quickly as jojoba. It stays long enough to work in, which is exactly what you want in a body oil. The aroma is mild and faintly nutty. It will not compete with an essential oil, but it also does not disappear the way a fully odorless carrier can. On its own, it smells like clean skin and warm kernels. Sweet almond is the bottle to reach for when the skin needs kindness. Face, body, hair ends, and a well-diluted essential oil blend all have a place here—as long as nut allergies are not a concern.

How to Use

Sweet almond oil may be used on its own or as a base for essential oils. Patch-test a new bottle.

Face
Warm 2–4 drops between the fingers and press onto damp skin. If your skin is oily or easily congested, start with a very small amount at night only.

Body
Massage a modest amount into still-damp skin after bathing. Elbows, knees, hands, and heels take it especially well.

Massage
Use enough to let the hands move without pulling. Add more only as the skin drinks it in.

Hair
Work a few drops through dry ends, or warm a small amount between the palms and smooth over the mid-lengths before washing.

As a carrier
Use sweet almond oil to dilute essential oils before they touch the skin:

  • Face: about 0.5–1% essential oil (3–6 drops per 1 oz)
  • Body: about 1–2% (6–12 drops per 1 oz)
  • Short-term, small-area use: up to 3% for healthy adult skin (18 drops per 1 oz)

Combine, label, and use the blend within a few months.
